Optoelectronics
Optoelectronics
An area synonymous with light-emitting diode technology, LED, as far as Obducat is concerned. Optoelectronics consists of electronics which, in one form or another, interact with light (or certain types of radiation, such as UV or IR). Thanks to its versatility coupled with resource and energy-saving properties, LED has in a short space of time been widely successful in a number of technology areas. Within LED, Obducat’s technology can contribute to contrast enhancing components and improved light transmission, and light diffusion. The result is improved picture quality and lower power consumption since less light is lost. With the Sindre®400, Obducat has significantly strengthened its position in the market. Organic light-emitting diodes, OLED, also comes within the scope of optoelectronics and is gaining ground, and OLED technology is becoming increasingly important, especially in the application areas of displays (see below).
